Our August field trip is Saturday, August 21 to the Betts Manganese Mine in Massachusetts. Look for information and a map in the next bulletin.

PLEASE NOTE: There is a $5 fee to collect here. You can pay the $5 at the main entrance in the building. If you need to come inside the house beyond the main entrance, you must remove your shoes as they do not wear shoes inside the house.

Our July field trip will be Saturday, July 17 to the Case Quarries in Portland, Connecticut. A map with directions will be published in the next bulletin. Come to our July 13 meeting to learn more.

May 2010 field trip

Our May field trip will be Saturday, May 15 to the Clark Hill Quarries in East Hampton, CT.

Maps will be printed in the next bulletin.

FIELD SEASON 2010 BEGINS

Field trip season begins…….

On April 17, we’ll visit the Simpson Quarry in South Glastonbury. Look for a map and other details in the next bulletin.

Future dates include:
May 15–Clark Hill in East Hampton
June 19–Sterling Hill, NJ
July 17–Case Quarries, Portland
August 21–Betts Mine, Plainfield, Mass.
Sept. 18–CCC Quarries, Haddam
Oct. 23–Green’s Farm, Roxbury

Other potential trips include the Herkimer area and maybe a bus trip. Read your bulletins or come to a meeting to find out the latest!
