This list of items in the Library is current as of March 2018.
See https://bristolgem.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Library-February-2018.pdf for the list of the books in the club library.
“Reserve List” policy:
New acquisitions and highly popular books are now available by reserving them on a first come, first served basis. These special items can be borrowed one at a time for one month only (no renewal). Make your request by contacting the Librarian at a meeting or by email1 at ctgmclub@gmail.com – you will be told when the book will be available based on how many other members are ahead of you on the list.
All other books may be borrowed for up to two months with a one-month renewal by requesting it from the Librarian.
Borrowing policies:
- A Librarian will sign out all books.
- A Librarian will also sign in all books.
- Up to 4 books may be on loan to a member / family at a time.
- Reserve List items:
One (1) Reserve List item may be borrowed at a time and is counted as part of the 4-book limit.
Reserve List items may be borrowed for 1 month only.
- Non-Reserve List items may be borrowed for two months. If it is not possible for you to return items within two months, you must make arrangements for an extension by emailing the Club Librarian at the address above (or call). If a book is not returned and no extension has been requested, the borrower will be notified that s/he is delinquent. If the book is not returned after that, the borrower will be charged the replacement cost2 of the book and a notice with the borrower’s name might be published in Down in the Dumps.
A selection of books and DVDs will be available for your perusal and loan at each meeting. If there is a specific book you would like to borrow, email (or call) the Club Librarian at least 3 days before the next meeting at ctgmclub@gmail.com and it will be available for you at that next meeting.
The Librarian will continue to look for new books. If you know of a particularly good one, please let her know because she often is able to buy them at a discount. Donations are always welcome, but please understand that because of severe storage space restrictions, the Librarian might have to put even some donated items into a Silent Auction, the proceeds to be used for Library purposes.
1 To call the Librarian, please refer to the contact information in the masthead of the latest edition of the Down in the Dumps.
2 If the item is irreplaceable (out of print, one of a kind, etc.), the borrower will be assessed, on an individual basis, a fee agreed upon by the Executive Board of the Bristol Gem and Mineral Club.
