Our next meeting is Tuesday, April 9, 2019. Join us for a presentation by John Sanfacon on Russian minerals. John’s presentation will include the history of Russian mineralogy, and he will bring in some of his own Russian minerals to show. He will have extensive notes on Mendeleev, Vernadsky and Fersman to hand out—-the last two men were the fathers of geochemistry, inspired by Mendeleev’s periodic table. His pictures will feature classic specimens he has seen in Russia.
Our meeting begins at 7PM–we’ll start with a short business meeting, followed by refreshments, socializing, and a silent auction, and then our program. We meet in the dining room of the Bristol Senior Center, 240 Stafford Ave. in Bristol, Connecticut.
If you haven’t already paid your 2019 dues, this meeting will be a great time to do so!! Please see Deb for this.
Hope to see you there!
