Our next meeting is Tuesday, September 9th at 7 PM in the dining room of the Bristol Senior Center, 240 Stafford Ave., in Bristol. We’ll begin with a short business meeting, followed by refreshments and a silent auction, and then our program.
Our program is a presentation about Montana sapphires by club member Judy Schuster. Dig your own Montana sapphires? Sure! The geology and gemology (heat treatment, cutting, etc.) of Montana sapphires will be described, plus where to find them and a bit about mining shenanigans. Lots of pictures support each topic and numerous samples will be available for examination.
