September 2016 meeting–Ancient Soapstone Quarry

Our next meeting is Tuesday, September 13, 2016. Join us and hear a program by Ken Feder, who has been conducting an archaeological dig at an ancient soapstone quarry in Peoples State Forest in Barkhamsted.  The soapstone was used to make bowls until that material was replaced by clay. Dr. Feder is a Professor of Anthropology at Central Connecticut State University.

We’ll begin at 7PM with a short business meeting; followed by refreshments, a silent auction, and socializing; and then our program. We meet in the dining room of the Bristol Senior Center, 240 Stafford Ave., in Bristol.

Hope to see you there!
